'worthwhile to carry on'

Did I feel tired in climbing up Snowdon?

Absolutely exhausted.

It did not seem a tough journey to me at the beginning. As the road getting narrower, and disppearing into rocky path and then rocks only, my lungs were not as comfortable as they were.

'Is it worthy to go up there?' I asked. Two traveller comming down from the top stopped and said, 'Oh, yes. It's wonderful up there. Absolutely worhwile to go up! You would not regret.' Best encouragement. Once again, my will persuaded my legs.

Perserverance and stamina took me further and further until I bumped into a huge rock. I was about to cry, 'I don't think I can make it.' (Although the view suppose to be good, people were still preceding, team members may laugh at me, my legs gave up there, so did my will.)

A friend behind also looked at the rock, he said, 'oh, it is hard.' He went up ahead of me and gave me a hand. In a second, I was over that rock.

Leaving the rock behind, my legs came back to me somehow. Did the second in the air give me a rest, did the friend assure me with his help, or did my energy get refilled, I don't know. But I was able to carry on. Some time later, we reached the top.

The view at the mountain top was great, no wonder so many seagulls sang over there. Thinking that I measured the long journey with my two legs (and hands), the beautiful mountains and lakes were even more rewarding.

After all, isn't the life journey similar to this hiking experience? Words of encouragement, friendship, and a hand when you're in need keep us going to the better place where seems impossible to reach. Life is a miracle. Experiencing is better than seeing!

Isn't the negotiation with God similar to this journey too? No matter how tough we are, encouragement and help are always from outside. He is our refuge and help in time of needs.
