Mr.& Mrs.

We admitted an elderly couple the other day. I just call them Mr. & Mrs. Mr. is 93 years old. Mrs. is 92. We deliberately placed them next to each other in a room, so they can see each other.

They really need to SEE each other with their very own eyes. Whenever possible, Mr. (healthier) would sit beside Mrs.' bed and held her hand. All the patients in the room and staff were heart broken for them. Even though they don't have much strength to talk, they still looked at each other's eyes, gentlely, lovingly. (After 70 years of marriage!!)

In the evening, I put the call button into Mr.'s hand and said, 'If you need help, please press the button and the nurse will come.' He blinked his eye,'Will I get a blond one?'

This star couple even told me their love story.... It's the same as everyone's but also special as everyone's. They both said, 'He/she is good to me!'

Oh. I don't quite understand or believe human love can sustain for 70 years! I thought the love of men can hardly last. It's the mercy/grace of God keeps marriage. Over the years, I've seen the brokenhearted ones, the difficult marriage and people's ridiculous lifestyles. I thought the chance of happy marriage is just getting slimmerer with time.

Looking at this couple, I had this thought, God actually loves marriage and tries His best to keep us inside of happy marriage. Now, I accept that marriage is still blessed by God. He made these life testimonies to show us that HE is able to make it. Yes, there are temptations and struggles but his grace is far beyond them.
