Mountain Rain--A biography of James O. Fraser, Eileen Crossman

During the Chinese New Year time, I finished reading this book about James O. Fraser, who went to southwest of China 100 years ago and helped Lisu people to know the gospel.

This book is his testimony, also a textbook for mission work. I can't recommend it more to all who want to bring people to God.

Southwest Yunnan is hilly place and Fraser had climbed all mountains there. However, his bigger mountains on the mission journey were more difficult to overcome. Most of the time, he was in the mountain area alone. The condition of mountain life was hard to take for him. Yet he held God's promise and asked God what he should do. His theory of 'general prayer' and 'specific prayer' in mission were so true to everyone.

Faser loved God and His creation a lot. He loved nearly everything in life, like music, sports, people, literature, nature, food and people's love. The book speaks of his love.

Fraser had firm faith in God in his mission. He gradually learned that God's work will be done in no time when His time came. I learned sooooooo much from him. He said, 'God is never restless. Holy Spirit brings calm.' He was such a man close to God's heart.

Godly men are blessed with God's wisdom. Fraser showed extraodinary wisdom in church planting amongst Lisu people. That's why Lisu people are still carrying on their journey with God after a century of political changes. This book helped me understand more about 'church' in China.

My few lines can not tell the amazing work of God in Fraser's life. Friends, please read the book.
No matter what stage of Christian journey you're in, Fraser's story and literatures would be great encouragement for you.

If you want, I can buy a copy for you! Let me know.
