I am very much into movies recently. I love movies. There is something like this said in the 'Big Fish', life needs stories to make it beautiful and memorable. I agree.
The Terminal by Tom Hanks was brilliant. The foreigner to US, Victor, stayed in the airport for months to fill his promise. And he filled what a perfect man should all done.
To protect beauty and vulnerables, to be loyal to his country, to be hard-working, to be friendly and honest, to be creative and the most important is that he lives wherever he is. How many men will live in the circumstances that he didnot expect to cope with?
Crash is fantastic in binding stories. It talks about the stories of normal people with different cultured mind. After the movie, I sat in the dark cinema, thinking of the 'good cop's gun shooting a black guy and a 'racial cop' saved the lady he bullied. God, these are men!! All reflect the image of God and devil. Who are we, coloured people in a western society? We are coloured in 'civilised people's mind. It's exactly what I felt sometimes, even if being amongst the kindest people. You're supposed to be short of money, education, elegance, dignity and dreams, because you, or your ancesters did not have them. Therefore, you are supposed to be greedy in taking things not belonging to you. Therefore, less coloured people would defense for themselves. These psychological worms rot the sincerity of people. and NO MAN IS IMMUNE FROM THEM.
Captain Corelli's Mandolin is beautiful. Nicholas Cage is definitely a good image for a real man. Mandras, the Dr, Carlo and all the soilders loved life and their land. They are real men! The Greek Dr's definition for love is something like this. Love is temprary madness, but then it subsdues. What matters is the left over after the passion. The binding between the two is the key of love. Wise Dr. give such a good conclusion, if there is wound, we should try to heal it.
Too many stories came all together, my small mind is overflew with all sorts. Now I understand why our life was set as such a slow pace most of the time. Because we can not learn the real life lessons if we experienced too many stories in such a short while.
I see. So God is still right.
