Dinner.People.Grace

Not be able to update my blog for quite a few days because I've been completely social recently. I was invited for 3 dinners in 7 days.

One was with my previous landlord, who are retired teachers and missionaries. They came to pick me up, fed me with their normal but delicious food. We talked about life since last time I had time with them. They've been on trips last year. The most amazing thing is they still remember those tiny details of my life, like ginger beer and my upsets. After did some painting with their super-cute granddaughter, they sent me back and gave me some Chinese tea as gift!

Another night was with a young couple who I know for a few months but have been really friendly with. We had fantastic food (Chinese) and BEER. For some reason, maybe because of the beer, I just kept mourning about life. (I do have lots of downs.) They listened, smiled, shared with me about their feelings and encouraged me. At 1:00am, they walked me back to my house and gave me a big HUG!

The most recent dinner out was with an engaged couple from church. We had very pleasant though quick dinner in the girl's house, then went for church meeting then they drove me home. On the way, they knew I love movies so the guy opened his DVD library for me to borrow! Such a bonus.

These are what I call real grace. What God can give through a meal, two persons, and a few hours together? Nutrition, companion, encouragement and the sense of being loved. And something extra is that God is here amongst His people.

Can pleasant times with nutrition, companion, encouragement and the sense of being loved be possible WITHOUT a god?

Mmm...I think all these material and emotional input can be possibly given to anyone, non-Christian or Christian. But, why these were given by people to people? Why different people were connected? Is it because of food, time or emotional needs? No. it is because of Jesus.

'No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.'

'God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in him.'--1John 4:12,16

Speak English, Rachel. I am not sure I understand Bible gobbledegook... :)
